SPARQLIST INC ("Sparqlist") is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to our website and mobile app. This statement was prepared following the structure recommended by the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).
1Who Sparqlist is for
Sparqlist is a local-discovery marketplace with three kinds of users, and we work to make the core tasks of each role accessible:
- Consumers — discovering venues, deals, happy hours, and events; redeeming offers; earning rewards; and managing their account and wallet.
- Creators — setting up a profile, booking reservation-style collaborations with venues, submitting content, and tracking earnings.
- Vendors — listing deals and events, reviewing collaborations, and managing their business dashboard.
2Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities, at three levels: A, AA, and AAA. Sparqlist aims to conform to WCAG 2.1 level AA.
3Measures to support accessibility
Sparqlist takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:
- Includes accessibility as part of our design and development process, and reviews new features for accessibility before release.
- Considers accessibility in our purchasing and third-party integration decisions.
- Provides a clear feedback channel so users can report barriers and request content in alternative formats.
4Accessibility features we have implemented
- Resizable text & Dynamic Type. The iOS app respects the operating system's text-size settings; text scales up without truncating or breaking layouts (with sensible upper bounds so large headings don't overflow).
- Screen-reader support. We use semantic structure, meaningful labels/roles, and text alternatives for meaningful images; decorative images are hidden from assistive technologies. We test key flows with VoiceOver on iOS.
- Color & contrast. We design for sufficient text/background contrast and do not use color as the only means of conveying information.
- Reduced motion. We honor the "reduce motion" system preference and minimize non-essential animation for users who enable it.
- Keyboard access (website). Interactive elements are reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Touch targets. Interactive controls are sized for easier activation.
5Technical specifications
Accessibility of Sparqlist relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and assistive technologies or plugins installed on your device:
- Website: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA.
- iOS app: the native iOS accessibility APIs (UIKit / UIAccessibility) surfaced through the app framework, including VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, and Reduce Motion support.
These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.
6Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology
Sparqlist is designed to be compatible with:
- Recent versions of Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox on desktop and mobile.
- VoiceOver (iOS) for the mobile app; common desktop screen readers with the browsers listed above for the website.
Known incompatibilities: Sparqlist may not be fully compatible with browser versions older than three years, or with browsers in which JavaScript is disabled. Third-party content embedded in our experience (see Limitations) may not be compatible with all assistive technologies.
7Known limitations, and alternatives
Despite our efforts, some content or functionality may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations, and the alternatives available:
- Third-party flows. Payment, subscription, and cancellation handled by Apple or Stripe, and embedded maps or social/video content, are provided by third parties and may not fully meet our standards. Alternative: contact us and we will help you complete the task or provide the information another way.
- User-generated media. Photos and videos uploaded by other users may lack descriptive text we cannot supply on their behalf. Alternative: the surrounding venue, deal, and event information is provided in accessible text.
- Newly released features. A new feature may occasionally ship before it is fully audited for accessibility. Alternative: report it to us (below) and we will prioritize a fix and offer help in the meantime.
8Assessment approach
Sparqlist assessed the accessibility of its website and app by self-evaluation, including testing with assistive technologies (such as VoiceOver on iOS). We have not yet commissioned a formal third-party accessibility audit; when we do, we will update this statement.

Digital accessibility is a continuous commitment. As we add features and content, we review them for accessibility, refine our practices, and work toward full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance.
